The 2022 Original Parts Group Classic Car Show

On Saturday, July 30th 200+ Gm Classic vehicles and their dedicated owners filled the Original Parts Group parking lot to gather in celebration of OPGI’s 40th year anniversary. The 2022 Classic Car Show was a huge success with delicious food trucks, vendor booths, and an epic turnout of spectators. See for yourself in our car show recap below.

The Key Club

Art Gonzales G Body Key Club

The G-Body Key Club turned up with 30+ vehicles to display near the entrance of the show. Included in the fleet of G’s was late club member George De Leon’s El Camino represented by G-Body enthusiast and Key Club member himself Art Gonzalez.

“Monster Mullet”

Erik Bragg Monster Mullet

Cinematographer and Instagram influencer Erick Bragg who handles @thisguysthelimit and more recently @hotrods revealed his ’68 El Camino “Monster Mullet” at the show. Erik has been a customer of OPGI’s for over 20 years and is a huge fan of our RESTOPARTS® brand.

Erik also brought along his 1970 Chevelle that is covered in parts from OPGI. From door and body panels, seats, glass, trim, carpet, headliner, and so on, you name it, literally, everything inside and out of the Chevelle is from Original Parts Group

The Star of the Show

In our VIP section of the show sat this Beauty, “Sleeping Beauty” a 1969 Chevelle Malibu who you may remember from our Grand National Roadster show recap blog. Owned by Gabbi and Rod Marin of Anaheim California, the couple took the win for first in class at the GNRS.

Gabbi Marin Fully Torqued Award

The Malibu continued taking wins at the Original Parts Group Classic Car Show when Gabbi was presented with the Fully Torqued award by Steve Pazmany host of Fully Torqued who handpicked @sleepingbeautyofanaheim out of the rest with some assistance from PALS. You can catch this all on an upcoming episode of Fully Tourqed Season 2, airing on History, dates to come.

1967 Grand Prix

Rich Scandaliato’s 1967 Grand Prix was featured on our 2022 Grand Prix Catalog Cover. You can learn more about Rich’s Grand Prix in our #opgicustomer Car Feature blog.

1969 Chevelle

Brett Beale is a long-time loyal customer of OPGI and a frequent showroom goer. Brett’s ’69 Chevelle is covered inside and out with restoration parts and accessories from Original Parts Group.

1970 GTO Judge

Craig Kamansky’s 1970 GTO was on the 2022 GTO Catalog cover. Craig’s GTO was built at the Pontiac plant in Freemont, Ca, and bought new in Westminster, Ca. In 2019 Craig completed a concourse nut and bolt rotisserie restoration on the rust-free body.

1972 Buick GS

Mark and Doreen Mulvey’s ’72 Buick was featured on the 2022 Skylark catalog. The car is one of 101 Stage 1 4-speed hardtops produced in 1972, but even more rare it is one of 29 factory 455 Stage 1 4-speed cars built with factory AC. The car is finished in its original color of Stratomist Blue with a white vinyl top.

Joe Gonzalez and his wife Delilah made it all the way down from Modesto, California to attend the Original Parts Group Classic Car Show. Joe had planned on attending our show back in 2019 but had to stay back home as they were anticipating the birth of their Granddaughter. Then with our show cancellation in 2020 and nothing planned for 2021, Joe thought he would never attend. Lucky for him this year Joe, better known as @slowjoewss on Instagram was asked to attend as a VIP, and just look at that display. Great presentation Joe and Delilah.
