For decades, the Grand National Roadster Show (see the official event site) has stood as one of the most respected indoor car shows in the country. Specifically, it began as a celebration of hot rods and craftsmanship. Today, it has grown into a multi-day event that brings together builders and restorers under one roof.
Each year, the show delivers a rare mix of history and innovation. The show includes traditionally styled builds parked alongside modern interpretations, all unified by attention to detail and pride in workmanship. From polished show cars to late-night outdoor displays, the Grand National Roadster Show continues to be a destination where automotive passion is on full display.
This year was no exception.
OPGI on the Floor at Grand National Roadster Show
OPGI was proud to once again be part of the Grand National Roadster Show. The show is an opportunity to connect with builders, customers, and fellow enthusiasts throughout the weekend. Our booth featured catalogs, displays, and—most importantly—real conversations about restoration projects at every stage.
The OPGI booth stayed busy throughout the weekend. Special thanks to the team on hand who shared their product knowledge and talked restoration with attendees.
Gabbi Marin’s 1969 Chevelle Malibu
One of the highlights of the OPGI booth was Gabbi Marin’s 1969 Chevelle Malibu, known as “Sleeping Beauty.” The 2022 Grand National Roadster Show marked the car’s official debut. The OPGI booth was the perfect place to share its story with fellow builders and enthusiasts.
The Malibu was originally purchased by Gabbi’s father in 1979. The car remained in the family for more than 40 years before being passed down to her. When it came time to restore the car, Gabbi focused on preserving its stock appearance and honoring its history.. Gabbi chose a thoughtful, detail-driven approach rather than transforming it into something it was never meant to be.
Finished in PPG Granada Gold with a fresh vinyl top, “Sleeping Beauty” made a memorable first appearance at the Grand National Roadster Show, where it went on to earn Best of Class / 1st Place in the 1960–1969 Hardtop Sedan category. OPGI was proud to feature the car in our booth and support the restoration with hard-to-source components that helped bring the project across the finish line.

A Show Full of Standout Builds
Beyond the OPGI booth, the Grand National Roadster Show delivered no shortage of incredible cars, each one showcasing a different approach to craftsmanship and creativity. From traditionally styled hot rods to clean, period-correct restorations, every corner of the show offered something worth slowing down for.
Part of what makes the Grand National Roadster Show so special is the range. Some builds celebrate originality and factory detail, while others push boundaries with subtle modern upgrades or completely reimagined designs all tied together by an unmistakable attention to quality.
Walking the floor, it was impossible not to appreciate the countless hours of planning, fabrication, and refinement behind each vehicle. Whether the focus was paint, interior craftsmanship, chassis work, or engineering under the hood, the passion behind every build was unmistakable.
