Being a G-body enthusiast, Original Parts Group’s devoted customer and member of the G-Body Key Club, Art Gonzalez has always had a special place in his heart for the Monte Carlo. After sharing his interest to build a one-of-a-kind MCSS with a friend of his, he was able to track down an original 1987 Monte Carlo SS.
After striking a deal with the original owner, Art brought the Monte home and immediately started tearing it down. The goal was to build a car that was not only show-worthy but also worthy on the track!
When working on a build as special as this one, it was very important to Art that every detail on the car received proper attention. Some of his recent updates included the installation of a 6.0 LSA powertrain, full UMI suspension, Corvette brake upgrades, shaved firewall, and digital
gauges.
Next on his to-do list will be refinishing the interior with all OPGI factory correct components including dash pad, upholstery, center console base, and many other interior pieces seen below.
