Step back in time and check out the classic cars on display at the 2023 Cruisin For a Cure Classic Car Show, held at the Orange County California Fairgrounds. This year’s event was a visual delight, featuring classic vehicles that have endured the test of time. Among them, Original Parts Group’s very own 1966 GTO.
In 1999, Debbie Baker initiated the “Cruisin’ for a Cure” event, driven by a deeply personal experience – her husband’s diagnosis of prostate cancer, which tragically claimed his life in 2009. Since then, this cause has remained Debbie’s unwavering passion, dedicated to making a difference in men’s lives by raising awareness about prostate cancer. Central to her mission is the provision of free prostate screenings during the event, a vital service that has touched the lives of thousands. Over the span of more than two decades, this initiative has provided screenings for well over 15,000 men, saving the lives of more than 4,000 individuals who would have otherwise remained unaware of potential health threats like suspicious lumps or prostate cancer. Her commitment is as inspiring as the classic cars on display, reminding us of the beauty that lies not only in these magnificent vehicles but also in the remarkable individuals who bring them to life.
During the show, the 1966 GTO received considerable attention at the OPGI pop-up exhibit. In case you missed our previous coverage, in 2018, OPGI undertook a remarkable restoration, converting a 1966 LeMans into the striking GTO you see here.
OPGI’s GTO was just one of the stunning classic cars on display at the show. From long-time OPGI customer Gabbi Marin’s 1969 Chevelle Malibu ‘Sleeping Beauty’ to numerous other classics, there was something for every automotive enthusiast to enjoy. Whether you’re a car enthusiast or simply appreciate the artistry of these classics, the 2023 Cruisin For a Cure Classic Car Show offered a unique opportunity to relive the glory days of the automotive world.
