OPGI Customer Car Spotlight: 1962 Pontiac Grand Prix

1962 Grand Prix fr

OPGI Customer Garth Rolfe of Carlsbad, California held a special regard for the Pontiac Grand Prix cars since their original introduction back in 1962. That’s why he jumped on this immaculately restored ’62 Grand Prix when it became available in 2010. Garth purchased the car after a complete frame-off restoration had been performed by the previous owner who just happened to be a professional body and paint specialist.

Underneath the glossy Belmar Burgundy Metallic exterior, the 389 Grand Prix V-8 was converted into a Tri-Power 425-A spec car clone with a special intake manifold, three Rochester 2-barrel carburetors and dual exhaust. The setup is good for 348 horsepower and is mated to a 4-speed Muncie transmission. In addition to the complete restoration of the exterior, the engine compartment and undercarriage were also restored to original factory appearance. The interior was refreshed with new seat covers, headliner, carpeting, matching Pontiac gauges and a host of smaller details to complete this beautiful car.
