Original Parts Group was pleased to attend The Grand National Roadster Show last weekend. It was the annual show’s 72nd year hosting the longest-running indoor car show in the world. In fact, over 500 show vehicles were on display inside the Fairplex building, including OPGI’s 1966 Pontiac GTO, “The Tribute”. Take a peek at some of the other rides that we spotted on day one of the three-day-long event.
“True Blue 72” and “Sun Drop” were just a couple of lowriders that we snapped some shots of. These Monte Carlo’s are part of the Elite Car Club, which brought an entire crew of lowriders with them.
We found OPGI Instagram follower Gabbi Marin at the show with “Sleeping Beauty”. She and her husband Rod recently restored her father’s ’69 Chevelle Malibu with the help of an OPGI customer, Mr. Old Habits Hot Rods. It was her first restoration, first show attended, and to her surprise, Gabbi took first-in-class. Though Gabbi may have been surprised with the win, we’re not. She certainly is a beauty, congrats Gabbi!
Mr. Old Habits proved to be extremely busy in 2021 with not only Gabbi and Rod Marin’s Chevelle Malibu but also with this turn key frame off restoration 1970 Chevelle SS 454, which are both covered in restoration parts and accessories from OPGI. Amazing work, guys!
On day two another 400 to 800 vehicles joined the event for the 16th Annual Grand Daddy Drive-In including this gorgeous ’66 Buick Riviera whose grand entrance onto the Pomona Fairplex grounds made it onto the Grand National Roadster Show Instagram page.
