DWS Classics – ’65 GTO Covered in OPGI Restoration

In 2015 DWS Classics was tasked with restoring a ’65 GTO that was in pretty bad shape. Despite trying to detour the owner from restoring his rusted out GTO, and advising him to purchase another in better condition, the owner insisted on restoring the ride he had been hanging onto since college.

Owner of DWS, Darin Smith knew he could find everything he needed to bring this Goat back to life, at Original Parts Group, so he accepted the challenge.

From emblems to body panels, bumpers to door handles to mirrors, the hood, and more, the exterior of this GTO was completely transformed with Original Parts Groups restoration parts.

In just under a year the GTO was fully restored and ready for its appearance at the SEMA Show, a dream of the owners. Unfortunatley he was only able to drive his classic a total of twenty miles before he sadly lost his battle with cancer.

It wasn’t long before the GTO made it’s way back to DWS for some fine-tuning, with its new owner that was located near the shop in Huntington Beach, California.
