Stay Home, Stay Safe & Restore Your Classic

Building your dream car can be a great escape from reality, and let’s be honest in today’s reality we can all use an escape right now. While we all continue to follow stay at home orders in response to the growing threats of COVID-19, we are proud to say that you can continue to count on OPGI for all of your GM restoration and performance needs.

In mid-March, Original Parts Group took action to ensure the safety of their employees by drastically reducing the person to person contact in each department. As sales are most imperative for the business as well as our customer’s satisfaction, OPGI’s IT department quickly set up 30+Sales Executives with computers and VPN’s (Virtual Private Networks). This allows our sales team to continue to assist customers and take orders during normal business hours from the safety of their own homes. Unfortunately, this did mean our showroom had to temporarily close until stay at home orders have lifted.

With precautions, our warehouse team has been working hard on processing orders. To adhere to social distancing requirements our team has been split out into two shifts. While following strict guidelines the team continues to receive, pull, and ship out orders as quickly as possible, however, it is far from “business as usual”. The new procedures have caused some delay but we continue to stay proactive and work through our new normal.

As our Sales and Warehouse operations carry on, our Accounting Department will continue to have their hands full. From processing vendor invoices to reviewing customer invoices and daily reports to balancing daily deposits, our Accounting Team is working seamlessly from home.

The Sourcing team has continued an ongoing project for our Chevelle interior kits all from the comfort of their homes. This will give our customers the ability to tailor their interior kits to their preferences directly from our website. If our customers would like Distinctive door panels with Legendary Auto Interior upholstery and PUI headrest covers they will now have the option to personalize their kits online. Once the team has completed the process for Chevelle they will do the same for the other A-body lines.

Our Marketing Department made an easy transition into the remote work environment. The team continues to collaborate on all of their creative tasks via conference calls, emails as well as a web and mobile application called Asana. Asana helps our team organize, track, and manage their work. 2020 Annual Catalogs have continued to be laid out and will reach homes as planned. Emails are going out daily and now feature a banner officially named the “OPGI Rundown”. This banner links directly to the latest blogs and is quite possibly how you made your way here. Our Print and Digital advertisements continue to be designed and ran, and as you may have heard our newest commercial will be airing very soon. Our Social Media remains on point, keeping you busy with hashtag challenges, stories and sharing some amazing rides for #MonteCarloMonday, #TruckTuesday and more!

Management continues to work in empty offices at OPGI’s headquarters.  We are certain it is a little eerie for them, but we are also certain that they are proud of how well their teams have adapted to their “new normal” work lives and have proven their dedication to Orignal Parts Group.

We cannot wait to re-open our doors officially but in the meantime stay home and stay safe!

So I guess you are opened, yet at the same time closed. I ordered some parts for my Chevelle project. You took my money and then told me that at some point in the future (several weeks) you will process my order. In my mind this is not right. Other vendors such as SS396 and Ecklers seem to be able to ship orders in a reasonable time. Not sure how much business I will give to OPGI in future .

Hello, We hope that you are safe and doing well. We are most certainly opened, however with the new processes we must take shipping is a bit delayed. Please contact a sales agent for updates on your shipment. Our apologies for the delay.
