31st Annual Seal Beach Classic Car Show

In April 2018, OPGI attended the 31st Annual Seal Beach Classic Car Show. Each year over 500 classic car owners come to show off their rides to the nearly 25,000 visitors that attend the show. Original Parts Group Inc. had a nice set-up right on the corner of Main and Electric Avenue, showcasing four of their cleanest black rides. Take a look at some of the photos that were captured from the event.

Shown above: the OPGI cars getting ready to head over to the show just a few miles from Original Parts Group headquarters here in Seal Beach, California. OPGI’s low mile 1987 Grand National leads the way with the 1970 Olds 4-4-2 W-30, 1965 Chevelle Convertible and 1976 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible following close behind.

Once the Original Parts Group crew was all set up, it was time to explore the show! From stock Cadillacs to modified Chevelles, the show was filled with cars that Original Parts Group proudly offers parts for.

Chuck Moore was one of the first customers the OPGI crew ran into at the show. He was showing off his red 1969 El Camino SS 396 Turbo Jet – aka “QWIKK 2”.

Andrew Jurkiewicz from Long Beach took home the “Best Original Award” selected and presented by OPGI. Take a look at his clean 1960 Cadillac DeVille that earned him his award.

In contrast to Andrew’s stock Caddy, check out Borje-Forslund’s 1966 Lowrider Cadillac Coupe DeVille.

OPGI customer and friend Tom Williamson brought along his 1965 LeMans that was featured on the cover of OPGI’s 2018 GTO/Tempest/LeMans catalog. If you look closely, you can see the catalog proudly displayed on the dash.

Tom’s LeMans was surrounded by several other Pontiacs on Ocean Avenue including Bill Kirchner’s 1962 Catalina. The light blue convertible was a returning guest to the show as it attended the 2017 show as well.

Another Pontiac posted up in “Pontiac Row” as we like to refer to it, Al Hartman’s beautiful 1968 GTO.

John Marshman brought along his 1965 GTO that debuted in the movie Setup as rapper/actor  Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s daily driver.

Paul and Loretta Gonzalez’s 1968 Chevelle set up on the grass right by the beach.

Jim Fernandez’s 1965 Riviera was at the show last year. This year Jim’s ride was stationed right on Main Street for everyone to admire. 

Ed Light’s ’64 El Camino was set up right around the corner from the OPGI booth. “Almost everything on it is from you guys,” Ed said as OPGI snapped some quick photos of his car.

Not too far from Ed’s El Camino was this 1967 Chevelle convertible with a “For Sale” sign prominently displayed on the windshield. 

Gary and Diane Straughn made sure to bring their pearl white 1972 Monte Carlo, aka “The Dream Catcher”.
